Thank you for such a detailed video , it makes is so much easier to learn new techniques.
I want to make one using Little House on the Prairie fabric. However I am having a very difficult time finding any Little House fabric. Could you tell me where you purchased your fabric?
Hi Rebecca, I’m so glad these tips were helpful! The Little House on the Prairie fabric is from a couple of years ago, so we don’t have a retail source we can share. I’m so sorry! You might have some luck searching for “Little House on the Prairie” line by Andover. I hope you can find some!
Do you have any suggestions on using the Parasol pattern on the large hemi? I know on the small hemi you use 5 pieces, but do you need 6 on the large hemi or should make the square larger (larger then 5×5). It may just be trial and error but was wondering if you might have any suggestions.
Hi Pamela,
The easiest way to adjust the Parasol pattern is to cut your fabric pieces bigger. Normally, you’ll use 6 pieces of fabric and then you’ll just need to experiment with the fabric size for the ball you are using. I hope that helps get you started!
Happy Ornament-ing!
I am so glad I saw this tonight. I am working on a large hemi now. Tomorrow I will be working on the rounded part of the hemi. All of these tips will be used and though about tomorrow as I work.
Thank you
Thank you for this very informative as well as instructional video. I have not done a hemi as I felt intimidated. After watching Monica show various ornaments I am less intimidated but still anxious!
I am so glad you found it helpful, Deborah! I hope you give it a try and find the process to be less intimidating than it may seem at first. Remember… you can always unpin things and start again. 🙂
This video came at such a good time. I am waiting for my order of hemi’s that I ordered from you to arrive. What a great video. It was so informative. Great work Staci 🙂
