Below you'll find both the downloadable PDF (and the bonus video workshop!) for the Snow Globe Pattern.

What is a "Snow Globe" ornament?

Snow Globe is what I call the type of quilted ornaments which showcase a picture, logo, team, name... anything you want... at the center of your ornament.

This video is an introduction to these versatile ornaments, and what you can do with them... along with some tips & tricks for making them - especially if you are brand new to making them.

Questions? Ideas? Let me know in the comments below!

I hope you enjoy making this!

What size was the .material that you made the triangle from

      • Sarah Cinocco on February 22, 2023 at 4:08 pm

Hi Mary, we usually use 2×3″ pieces of fabric to make our basic triangle fold.

What size ball do you use?…Will I be able to access the newest pattern for December? If so, when?

    • The Ornament Girl on December 2, 2016 at 3:14 pm

Hi Marsha.. The ball size in this video is 3″ – that’s the size I prefer most of the time.

The December eBook is already here on the site, and you can access it on this page: http://ornamentgirls.com/ebook

I don’t want to get on Face Book.
    Thank You for your help.

    • The Ornament Girl on December 28, 2016 at 12:11 am

Hi Valeria… I understand, and I’m sorry for any confusion! The Facebook group isn’t necessary at all – it is something in addition to this site. We would certainly love to have you there, because it’s a really fun group full of talented ladies, but I also completely understand that not everyone wants to be on Facebook.

Here’s a link to the Moonlight eBook – just click this and you’ll be taken to the eBook: http://ornamentgirls.com/moonlight-pattern/

Can you tell me more specifically the problems you’re having with the videos? Are they not loading, or are you finding them difficult to understand?

Just in case, you can also find eBook instructions for each of your kits, on this page: http://ornamentgirls.com/ebook

You may find those more helpful than the videos. The videos are mainly for extra help and learning, but the eBooks at the link above will show you specifically how to make each of your kits.

I hope that helps! Please let me know if you need anything else, or if there’s anything else I can do to help.
      Staci Ann

Where can i get that Hope Fabric that you used. I have two friends that had Breast Cancer and would love to make one for them. Thanks.

    • The Ornament Girl on January 3, 2017 at 9:20 pm

Hi Linda – I’ve been buying mine from eBay whenever I can find it, but it is VERY hard to find. It’s a retired Longaberger fabric, and it’s been out of print for a long time. What I do is keep checking eBay, and then grab it whenever I am able to find some. You can also look for the table squares and fabric napkins in the print, because they are big enough to use for an ornament, too. Oh, and the name of it is Horizon of Hope. When I search eBay, I usually search for “Longaberger Horizon of Hope fabric yard” (because otherwise you’ll get a million other Longaberger products and baskets), or “Longaberger HOH fabric yard”. You can also try those same searches but replace the word “yard” with “napkin” or “table square”. I hope that helps, and good luck!

    • The Ornament Girl on January 3, 2017 at 9:22 pm

I should have mentioned as well that I do have this ornament in a kit in my shop too – but try doing those searches above and hopefully you’ll get lucky and find some of the fabric. 🙂

Thanks for the video and tips to make a snow globe ornament. I’ve made several from the kits, but have never done one of my own design. Watching this has helped me plan my ornament.

I really enjoyed watching you putting your snow globe ornament together and how you cut the ends ,so it would be smooth around the middle. I made some for my family members for this last Christmas and had no-one show me that. Thank You, Jeanette

    • StaciAnn Lowry on June 5, 2017 at 5:21 pm

I’m really glad you found that helpful, Jeannette. 🙂

Awesome videos. I have tried these in the past, and they turned out all wonky. But your videos addresses all the answers To the questions I have had. Thanks for doing the videos for us visual learners!

  17. Joanne Sumption on October 17, 2017 at 4:30 pm

It was very helpful and precise as to how to create this ornament without having the foam ball to show, which I did and not I see where I went wrong. Thanks Staci! 🙂

  18. Glenna Butler on February 13, 2018 at 6:46 pm

Do you ever clip the fabric (of the base fabric in this instance) and then lap it to eliminate the bubbling aspect you were dealing with at 8:34 of this video? Would there be a problem with putting a small clip in the fabric since it will be covered up several times over in the process?

  19. Deborah Faulkenberry on September 2, 2018 at 6:24 am

I have access to the Look Book but do not have access to the eBook.

  20. Vivian Barkley on September 19, 2018 at 11:38 pm

Frustrated. I have access to the ebook but there is t a link. It only has videos. I can’t watch the videos because …. I need the ebook. Written version… where is the link for that?

    • StaciAnn Lowry on September 21, 2018 at 12:18 am

Hi Vivian… I’m sorry about that. I believe I’ve fixed the error. Can you refresh your page and give it another try?

  25. JOY LISEMBY on May 6, 2021 at 3:58 am

    Hi Stacey,

I was curious, can the Snow Globe pattern be used on a heart shape? If so, do you have instructions to do that? or am I just not finding it. Thanks!

    • Janelle - Ornament Girls Club on May 6, 2021 at 4:37 pm

Hi Joy, we don’t actually have a pattern using the snow globe on a heart. We do have heart patterns you could try but the snow globe doesn’t currently have a heart shape. You can find all our patterns here: https://theornamentgirl.com/market/product-category/patterns/ Thanks and have a wonderful day!

THIS SITE IS VERY HARD TO NAVIGATE! IT IS TELLING YOU TO GO TO YOUR DOWN LOADS AND THEN TAKING YOU SOMEWHERE ELSE

    • Janelle - Ornament Girls Club on June 20, 2021 at 8:20 pm

Hi Edwina, I’m sorry you’re having a hard time navigating. We try really hard to make it easy and intuitive but are sad you’re having a hard time. If you’d like to email us we can help you further with this. Thank you. https://ornamentgirls.com/contact/

Hi I was wondering why I can’t access the Bonus Snow Globe Lookbook?

  28. Renee L Mcpherson on September 16, 2022 at 11:38 am

I accidentally bought a pack of 4” balls and they are pretty large. How big do you think I need to make my rectangles?
I normally do the 3 inch balls but I suppose I can make a few larger ones just for the heck of it lol.

    • Sarah Cinocco on September 16, 2022 at 5:55 pm

Hi Renee, we don’t have an exact formula for working with larger balls. In general, you can add 1/2″ to your fabric measurements and it will work out well. You are going to need to experiment a little bit with the fabric and spacing, but once you get it, I’m sure they will be wonderful.
