Hello, I managed to buy foam disc which measures 3 1/4 inch, but this discs are much thinner, about 1 inch. Is that a problem for making this ornament? I can’t find thicker ones in The Netherlands.
These fabrics are very beautiful, believe it or not, I purchased a charm pack with these same fabrics about4 months ago, order more dics and I am ready to go. I just love these pinwheels!
Beautiful fabrics! StaciAnn, you always have the most beautiful fabrics! Do you know the name of them? They are so bright and cheery! They make me smile!
Hello. The Prairie Point video states you have a link “down below” for ordering pins by the pound as well as the foam disk. I can not seem to find either link. Can you please point me in the right direction?

Hello … quick question … I purchased the Praire Point Pinwheel. I have access to the pattern under Classic patterns but neither of the Prairie Point Pinwheel patterns under Ornament Girls patterns; I can understand about the sunflower one, as there is an extra fold, but not the other one, why is that? Thank you for your time. Holly

Hi Holly, I just wanted to let you know I’ll be emailing you about this question. Please let me know if you don’t receive it as we have had some issues in the recent past with our emails getting through to Yahoo addresses. Thank you!
Hi again…..please disregard my previous comment. I printed out a NEW Prairie point pinwheel cheat sheet and the measuring template is about a1/4″ larger than the “older template” I was using. So the 1/4″ won’t make that much difference in the completed pinwheel. Sorry, I should have double checked before “commenting”. I’m definitely hooked on ornamenting.
Hi, the foam disc I purchased from you about a month ago is larger. It measures a little over 3-3/4″ across the center. I cut out the template to mark the disc and it’s about 1/2″ too short. So I’ve had to recalculate the marks on the template. You might want to check the size of the discs you have in stock. I am enjoying making the Christmas ornaments and the monthly ornaments (challenges my brain!!!).
Yes, I found this to be true as well with the measuring tool provided and the disk I received recently from OG- a generous 1/4 inch difference. I found the recalculating works much better when you work in centimeters and millimeters rather than inches. Easier to be precise!
Thank you for the tutorial. I have made these without the foam and they are floppy. I ended up using a stiff poster board cut in a circle and sewed them together. I love you idea so much more.

Hi Marjelle, I think it will work. You will want to be very careful with your pins so you don’t poke through the other side of your disc.
I love your fingerless gloves
Looking forward to making this one. Will be making 10 of them in different prints as gifts for my 10 nieces and nephews.
I just received my foam pinwheels! Can’t wait to make them! I’m making one for a friends birthday!
Thanks for sharing! 💛💚

Hi Valerie, you can create your own strip for marking your discs. We have a video that will show you how to do that here: https://ornamentgirls.com/divide-disc-into-12-or-16-segments/
