Thank you Staci! This video was so informative and I especially appreciate the Resource Guide. I am very excited to see Video #2 and get started with the step by step details as I have been a member of your Ornament Girls Members Club since April and have yet to do my first ornament. Thanks again…can’t wait until tomorrow =0)

  17. Sandi on September 29, 2017 at 4:44 pm

I found this first video very interesting and fun. You were very informative and precise with all the steps which made it clear and exciting. Cannot wait to begin. You did a wonderful job explaining each item for the project with great detail to the sizes etc. Thank you, again excited to try this project.

  18. Caryl Laubach on September 29, 2017 at 5:44 pm

Great video, but I can’t read the materials list or suppliers list–too small and can’t get my computer to make them bigger without making them even more blurred.

    • StaciAnn Lowry on September 29, 2017 at 6:04 pm

Caryl… Are you clicking on each one? They will open up into a full size document once you click on them. You can also right-click on them, and save them onto your computer. Then from there, you can open them up full-size.

  19. Becky Minemier on September 29, 2017 at 5:46 pm

Staci, you’re the best for doing these workshops! I found this to be very informative! It provides a great list of exactly what is needed to anyone who is interested in getting started with making these gorgeous quilted ornaments. I thoroughly enjoy being a member of the OG club and receiving those amazing ‘little white boxes’ from you each month. Still, I can’t wait for the next video! All the work you put into this is greatly appreciated!! Much Thanks!!!

Thank you for the videos and the downloads. I am looking forward to making these. 🙂

  22. Mary Kay Harman on September 29, 2017 at 6:55 pm

Great video. You explained everything so well. I have one question. If you want to use the wired ribbon (at a later date) what size ribbon should you buy and cut? Or will you be covering that at another time. Again, thanks for everything you do for us.

    • StaciAnn Lowry on September 29, 2017 at 9:58 pm

Mary, I don’t go too much into it in this series, but I do have an eBook just on this specific topic, available to you on your club page… go to ‘eBooks’, and then click on the ‘Bonuses’ tab, and you’ll see that download right at the top of the list.

It looks like this (sorry for my wonky outlining lol):

      Wired Ribbon eBook

    • StaciAnn Lowry on September 29, 2017 at 10:04 pm

And for anyone else wondering this, who is not a member with access to the above download…. I typically use either 1-1/2″ or 2-1/2″ width wired ribbons. If you use the 2-1/2″ width, you can even cut it in half width-wise, to get twice the use out of it. The pieces will be much narrower than what you’ll be used to if you start with fabric.. but it’s not hard to adapt it, and you’ll love the results!!

  23. Missi on September 29, 2017 at 6:57 pm

I’m so happy you are sharing your instructions with all of us! I’m glad to say I own 1 of your ornie. It’s a Valentine one. I’m signed up and ready! Thanks, Stacie

    • StaciAnn Lowry on September 29, 2017 at 9:48 pm

I hope watching the basics in this video will be helpful to you, Lynn. 🙂

  27. Debra Caldwell on September 29, 2017 at 11:16 pm

    Hey Staci,
Thank you for the video! I started making ornament balls this year. I did start out with Pinterest and found another person to begin the process of making these balls. She was okey but the balls were messy. Thru trial and persistence I found your balls on the site as well. Love your style of decorating the balls. I want to thank you for the video.

  28. Charlene on September 29, 2017 at 11:18 pm

I have been making the basic balls for awhile. Could you please show and explain the pinwheel. I can’t seem to get it.

  29. Karen Clark on September 29, 2017 at 11:43 pm

I have made many of these on my own, self taught with some that have failed and others have turned out. Im addicted to making them!! But have always noticed your corners are so perfect and neat and have always wondered how you get them so perfect. I think I fold mine a bit different so Im excited to see how you actually acheive these that way!
I loved the first video, so well and clearly spoken. Really looking forward to the remaining videos.thank you so so much for doing this for all of us!

  30. Doreen on September 29, 2017 at 11:46 pm

Loved the video! I bought two of your kits a couple of years ago but I just couldn’t get the hang is it. I ended up giving them to my sisters to figure out. I want to conquer this! Can’t wait to view the next video!

  31. Sherry Wheeler on September 30, 2017 at 12:56 am

I cannot wait to get into my fabric stash in the morning!! I quilt-haven’t since we moved:(, so I have plenty to choose from that I’ll use for my virgin ball 🙂 Thank You for this opportunity to try one. I can’t wait!

    Thumb up !

    • StaciAnn Lowry on September 30, 2017 at 12:23 pm

I’m so glad that was helpful to you!

  34. Ann on September 30, 2017 at 8:12 am

Hello Staci, thank you for this video. I live in UK, how do I know that the polystyrene balls are 3″. I have tried to find the equivalent in ‘mm’ but not been successful. Just where does it measure 3″ please? Thank you for your time. Ann in cold and wet Wales.

    • StaciAnn Lowry on September 30, 2017 at 12:23 pm

Hi Ann… The 3″ is the diameter, so measured around the circumference. It would be *about* 7.5cm or 76mm. If you can find a size near that, that will work – it would not have to be dead on. In fact, I’ve found even the 3″ to vary a little bit in ‘actual’ size sometimes. I hope that helps. Good luck in your search!

  35. Rebecca on September 30, 2017 at 5:18 pm

I’m deaf. I had no problem with closed caption for this video. Look the CC at the bottom of screen. Click it and click the word English. It worked for me. Thanks for video. I will watch it later.

  36. Ellen on September 30, 2017 at 11:24 pm

    StaciAnn,

I’ve been making ornaments for about 10 years … basically self-taught after I found a few very raw instructions on line. I would estimate I’ve made 1200-1500 ornaments. Most of them, I’ve given for gifts, but I have started selling by word-of-mouth and at a few craft fairs near where I live in the last 2-3 years. I don’t do Facebook so I have no way of sharing my work with you other than by direct email. Now that I’ve fine-tuned my craft, I believe my ornaments are as nice as yours.

I started out using 2 1/2″ ribbon for all my ornaments. Gradually, I added fabric because there are so many kinds of patterns and designs. I recently started adding names, dates and pictures to my ornaments. You cut your fabric pieces 2 x 3″; however, I’ve had better results with 2 x 2 1/4″. With this cut of fabric, I find there is less waste of fabric and not so much bulk around the middle when the front and back designs are put together.

Your video was simple for a beginner to understand. I do look forward to the next two videos as I’m always looking for new tips and pointers for my ornaments. As someone else said, “These are addictive”!

    • Rhonda Tenderholt on October 26, 2017 at 6:45 pm

Ellen, I’d love to see your ornaments and directions. Could you email me at tenderholts@gmail .com?

  37. Zola M. Fisher on September 30, 2017 at 11:55 pm

Thank you. Stacy for the video and all the info.

  38. Tara on October 1, 2017 at 1:32 am

    Hi StaciAnn,
First, thank you for doing this! I have been on your email list for a while but haven’t yet taken the plunge, although I’ve been very interested, so this is very helpful. I have the supplies in my Amazon cart… but I would love to do this with my Mom, who is a quilter. She’ll be here with me in two weeks. Will these videos still be available at that time? I think it would be fun to do together. 🙂
    Thanks again!

  39. Annette Johnson on October 1, 2017 at 2:19 am

Great video one. Can’t wait for the rest. I’ve made a few of these ornaments, but with no instruction-just stumbled through the process.
Looking forward to learn the right way to make them😊

    Thanks for sharing this

  42. Kari on October 2, 2017 at 12:55 pm

  44. Matilde Juveli on October 4, 2017 at 7:23 am

    Hi!

I’m wonderering if I’m allowed to sell the finished product I’ve made?

I don’t want to do anything illegal!

If I’m allowed to sell, I will not make any money out of it myself, as all money goes stright to my favorite charity here in Norway😊

I’m SO looking forward to test this potentially new hobby! Thank you SO much for making these videos, I know it’s tons of work!

Best regards from Norway; Matilde Juveli.

    • StaciAnn Lowry on October 4, 2017 at 10:05 pm

Yes, absolutely, Matilde! I didn’t create the basic idea behind this craft – this is just my own spin on it. You are free to sell any finished product you make using this technique!

  45. Carolyn on October 5, 2017 at 12:42 am

Thank you! Looking forward to seeing how these go together.

  46. Cindi on October 6, 2017 at 5:40 pm

First, thank you so much for the opportunity to see your video. I designed wedding gowns for 20 years until my shoulder gave way to bursitis. I moved onto crafts for friends and family since sewing was even more of a hobby than just designing. I started making these ornaments, but had no instructions, so this helped a great deal for me.
    Thank you again!

  47. April Buentello on October 7, 2017 at 4:19 pm

Just got home from a vacation with no wifi to find all 3 emails with videos in my inbox. I have been making ornaments using your directions for a couple of years. Thanks for so generously sharing your talent and love for making such beautiful ornaments.

I was able to acces vidoe one easily, but it looks like I can’t get to video two. Am I doing something wrong?
This is the most important one so far!

    • Reggie Geier on December 21, 2017 at 12:16 am

I can access Video 1 with sound and visual, but cannot get any visual for Video 2, sound is fine but no visual. Is this just a problem on my end? I have tried several times.

      • Janelle - Ornament Girl Customer Support on December 21, 2017 at 2:28 am

Hi Reggie. It’s playing for me. Could you try with a different browser and see if that works? Usually Google Chrome or Firefox work best with our site.

  59. Rhonda Tenderholt on October 26, 2017 at 6:47 pm

StaciAnn, somehow I must have deleted the email that goes with this. Was there a schedule of when the other videos would be available? I tried resubscribing and it’s not sending me a new email.

  60. Natalina C Bailey on October 27, 2017 at 1:39 pm

StaciAnn, your video was very informative, I’m very excited to get started. I’m a quilter and I have lots of scraps from projects and it give me a way use up the leftover fabric.

  61. denise on October 27, 2017 at 6:07 pm

  62. Bert on October 27, 2017 at 11:47 pm

Your supply list is so blurry, I can’t read it. Can you repost it?

    • StaciAnn Lowry on October 30, 2017 at 4:03 pm

Dianne… if you click on that image, it will open in a new window, in full resolution (and won’t be blurry).

    # ornament girls. When will I be getting video 2 ? I’m very excited to get started..

  68. pixel gun 3d on November 4, 2017 at 6:38 pm

Take into consideration that. And I received this free.

  69. Ellen Burke on November 4, 2017 at 7:09 pm

Any tips where you place the pins on both sides of the fourth layers before trimming? I got both sides done but it seemed like both sides of fabric went into the middle and I couldn’t tell where I was supposed to trim the fourth layers. I good it all out and decided to ask before I did it again. Thanks for such detailed instructions!

  70. Etna on November 13, 2017 at 12:02 am

Hi, I´m from México, the video is amazing, but the second one isn´t ready? Thanks

Hi Etna, I wanted to let you know that we emailed the second one today. I hope you received it? You should receive number three tomorrow as well. Please let me know if you don’t receive day two or three. Thanks!

  71. Zel on November 13, 2017 at 5:50 pm

I am excited that you have come out with beginner ornament videos! Last year I purchased your beginner written directions and I felt they did not address issues I was having getting them to line up perfectly, even though I spent hours working on them. Since I am a perfectionist at heart, I was not totally happy with my work. I love making them and hope your 3-part videos will help. Thank you!

    • Janelle - Ornament Girl Customer Support on November 14, 2017 at 1:05 am

Hi Zel, Oh I am so happy to hear we could offer this video series for you. I hope it helps too but if you end up with more questions after the videos please let me know and I’ll be happy to help as best I can. Have a wonderful evening!

I have a suggestion. I made my first ornament last weekend. I just sat down to make a second, but have forgotten how to start. I need to access Video II, but can’t get to it without going through Video I again. Since I’ve already registered, allow me (and others) to access whichever video I choose?

    • Janelle - Ornament Girl Customer Support on November 29, 2017 at 8:31 pm

Hi Nancy, I will send you an email about this. Thanks!

Please tell me the total of yardage of main color and the second color. I speak French and I listened many time to understand how much fabric to buy, but cannot clearly understand the needec yardage for each. You should also write it on your file. Thanks

    Stacei

I have been watching your video over and over I think I’ve got it now. I’m waiting for a check to come in so I can spend it all on one thing and that is fabric.

  81. MaryBettie Form on June 24, 2018 at 3:49 pm

I have made at least 200 to 300 different ornaments over the past three years. I learned the basic technique from you and have done many experiments. I don’t need basic instructions but wanted to try some new ideas. Also helps to review before I begin each year. Which video should I concentrate on to get new ideas? Thank you for all your hard work and beginning me on my gift giving ornaments. I give a new one each Christmas to friends and neighbors. Some collect them and really look forward to receiving them. They go to many states and different countries.

  82. Candice Brook on July 1, 2018 at 6:00 pm

do you get your decorative pins at the same place you get the regular pins I cant find them on the web site.

I ordered the pineapple ornament but didn’t receive any instructions then I ordered the black and white star and have not received it ,what I need to know am I member of the kit if the month club or not?

    • StaciAnn Lowry on September 21, 2018 at 12:16 am

Hi Sue… I’m sorry about that. I just checked your account and found that there was a typo in your email address. I just re-sent an email to you, which will include your login info to get your eBook instructions for both August and September. Also, your September kit is in the mail and should arrive to you within the next day or two. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with, and thank you! -Staci Ann

  91. Shirley on October 5, 2018 at 4:54 am

I love your video! I can’t wait to view 2&3. I brought your basic star instructions a few years back and so far have made two of them in the last 3 years. They nevered looked quite right. The video along with the instructions is just what I needed. I only wish I could download your videos and save them so I don’t have to be on the internet to watch them. Sometimes when I travel I want to work on them and there’s no internet service or it’s not very strong. I’m watching as many videos as possible before starting…. I’m a little nervous about it 😬

Thank you so much for your help, wonderful tips and being so easy to understand! I joined your club and can’t get over how talented people are!

  92. Joan Adams on October 15, 2018 at 7:30 am

  96. Judy on January 20, 2019 at 4:18 pm

What?????…now I need to WAIT for the next videos?

  97. Jill Moore on February 14, 2019 at 6:17 pm

I am a newbie to the OG and I cannot wait to get started! My grandmother made fabric ornaments many years ago and I never learned how she made them. I am so glad to find instructions on making the ornaments that pay attention to detail.

I was a bit confused on the size of the strips. In one part you said the fabric is 2 x 3, and at the end of the video you said 3 x 2. So are the strips 2 inches high by 3 inches long? Or the other way around?

    Keep up the beautiful work!

  98. Karon on August 21, 2019 at 10:11 pm

I got the three videos and watched them. I saved them so I could watch again as I did not have any supplies at the time I watched them. I cannot get them to open again. What do I need to do so i can see them again?

  99. Annette on January 8, 2020 at 2:52 pm

The link to the Supply list is not working. I can open the Online Resource one but message saying error and file not found on supply list. I think I have it from video but would be nice to have the list.
    Thanks

  100. Ginny Monohan on February 22, 2020 at 4:55 am

I watched the first video but number 2 & 3 haven’t been activated yet. Been waiting several days. Also I haven’t received any emails in the last 2 days. Is something wrong on your end?

  101. Daniela Nolfi on September 16, 2020 at 11:20 pm

Hi Stacy, as I live in Mexico I think I am unable to receive the monthly kit, am I right? I missed to join the Club this time due to the doubt I have: I pay monthly, what am I going to receive? Your answer will be appreciated, many thanks Daniela

  102. Rosana on October 22, 2020 at 8:12 pm

    Grata.
    Rosana.

    Hi! Fairly-new Beginner Crafter here!
Super excited to have happened upon your you-tube video! First at trying ornament balls and I’m having FUN! Great way to relieve one’s stress and anxiety. Thank you for sharing your gifts! I’ve always said, “Sharing is Caring!”

On another note: I cannot seem to find your link to the Prym Dritz precision pins. I’d like to purchase a box in both regular and gold. May you please send me the link to where you purchase? Thanks again.

    • Sarah Cinocco on December 8, 2022 at 3:54 pm

We are so happy to hear you are enjoying the workshop and learning all about ornaments. I’m happy to get you the link for the pins in bulk. For the #17 pins we like to use, you can find those here: https://theornamentgirl.com/blog/bulk-pins-dressmaker-size-17
This will just be for the silver pins. We typically use sequin pins when we use gold pins, but we don’t have a good source for those right now. I’m so sorry about that. You might be able to find some 3/4″ sequin pins at your local craft store or online. Happy Ornament-ing!
