How to turn the Parasol Pattern (and others) into beautiful little umbrellas!

In this video, Monica will show you how she turned the Parasol Pattern (and the Flutter Fold) into these adorable little umbrella ornaments!

Perfect for Baby Shower Gifts, rainy day activities... plus they are just plain adorable! I think you will love the ideas she gives here.

And of course, if you would like to try out the Parasol Pattern, you can grab it right HERE.

(She also made some using the Starburst & Bloom Patterns. Ornament Girls: If you were a member during March, 2018, you have already learned the Flutter Fold technique - YAY.)

I just finished this video and, as usual, YOU AMAZE me! You are so creative. One thing I like about the videos is that you give so many tips that you have discovered while making that particular ornament. They cut down on MY mistakes about 50%!!! Love, love these parasols. I have a niece who is expecting her first baby and my head is spinning!

Monica, i got my hemi’s today and have watched your video…. I’m still new at this and am not sure how to section the hemi! I watched the parasol video too, but since that is a ball & this is only half a ball I’m lost! Can you help? Thanks!

    • Monica
      April 17, 2018

Hi Barbara! Dividing a hemi is very similar to dividing a ball, but since a hemi is basically just a ball cut in half, you should measure around the BASE of the hemi (versus measuring around the middle of a ball). So the same marks you would normally make around the equator line of a ball should be made around the bottom part of the hemi — where the band or ribbon will be wrapped around later. Does this help?

Hi Perry. 🙂 My apologies for missing this question until now. Yes, the unicorn video is a bonus with the Iris pattern.

How do you fix it so you can hang it? Do you run a wire completely through it before adding the dowel or straw? I just made one and the top where the material comes together isn’t stable enough to support it’s weight 🤔

Having read this I thought it was very informative.
I appreciate you finding the time and energy to put this information together.
I once again find myself personally spending a significant amount of time both
reading and leaving comments. But so what, it was
    still worthwhile!
